How to hide work area in Tekla structure

The work area in Tekla Structures refers to the graphical user interface (GUI) where you perform modeling and detailing tasks. It consists of various components, such as toolbars, menus, and navigation panels, that allow you to interact with the software and create 3D models. The work area provides a visual representation of your model and serves as the primary workspace for your Tekla Structures projects.

Way to hide work area in Tekla model.

There are two possible ways to hide workarea symbol in model views one is temporary, and another is permanent way.

1. Temporarily hide work area

To hide work area temporarily, hold down CTRL+SHIFT, right click and select “Redraw View”. This will hide the Work Area box from the view.

It simply hides it temporarily for the current view. If you Redraw to view or create new view in the model, the work area will be visible again unless you hide it in that specific view as well.

2. Permanently hide work area

To hide work area permanently, open the Tekla model option settings. Or use combination key “CTRL+E”. Go to Settings > Advanced options > Model view. Copy the name XS_HIDE_WORKAREA to the Search bar. Change the Value to TRUE.

XS_HIDE_WORKAREA = TRUE

How to hide work area temporarily in tekla structure

If you want to revert back the settings, then simply change the value “TRUE” to “FALSE” in XS_HIDE_WORKAREA option setting.
