The field and crane time is expensive. If column is placed at wrong direction, then crane need to move on and take that column up rotated around right direction. To avoid this issue, assembly orientation play an important role in erection of steel. Columns are clearly marked with face direction. Beams mark should be on left side with orientation mark.

3 steps to set up Project North in Tekla structure

Step 1: launch tekla structure and open the model 

Launch the tekla structure and the model in which you want to setup project north.

Step 2: access model options setting

In model options setting dailog box, navigate to orientation marks.

Step 3: Define north angle and direction 

Set the north direction field to measure from the x-axis the degrees to point north for the project.
